CITY Savings Bank (CitySavings) goes beyond providing financial services as it reaffirms its support for the Department of Education’s (DepEd) key programs to co-create a safe, empowered, and more sustainable teaching and learning environment.
With the theme “Sama-sama sa Bayang Bumabasa”, CitySavings participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2025 kick-off in Bacacay, Albay, last June 9. Joining other community members, CitySavings and its employees volunteered to help prepare more than 240 public schools, supporting over 310,000 learners and 13,300 teachers nationwide through classroom repairs and the donation of teaching and hygiene kits.
“Brigada Eskwela is more than just fixing schools, it is a Bayanihan movement,” emphasized DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara during a parallel kick–off in Bulacan led by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to support DepEd’s educational reforms, working hand-in-hand to deliver inclusive and accessible quality education to every Filipino student,” shared CitySavings President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel G. Santiago, Jr.
City Savings Bank extends its support to Palarong Pambansa 2025 last May in Ilocos Norte through the donation of air conditioning units at Bacarra Central Elementary School (left) and giveaways at San Nicolas Elementary School.
Last May, the Bank also extended support to Palarong Pambansa delegates in Ilocos Norte. CitySavings collaborated with DepEd officials, led by Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma and Assistant Secretary Dexter Galban, to distribute caps, fans, umbrellas, and eco-bags to teacher-coaches and staff at San Nicolas Elementary School. The Bank also donated air conditioning units to Bacarra Central Elementary School, enhancing the school's facilities for long-term use.
Beyond its support for Brigada Eskwela and Palarong Pambansa, CitySavings will continue to support DepEd and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve more impactful community development.
