SUBIC BAY, ZAMBALES – The inaugural Subic Bay Shore Fishing Tournament 2025 is set to cast off on August 8–10, bringing together fishing enthusiasts, tourists, and marine sports advocates for a three-day celebration of angling excellence at the San Bernardino Fishing Site inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
This first-of-its-kind shore fishing competition in Subic Bay aims to promote sustainable fishing practices while highlighting the area’s rich marine biodiversity. The event is expected to draw both local and international anglers, positioning Subic Bay as one of the Philippines’ premier fishing destinations.
Organized by Fish’n Town in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), the tournament enjoys strong backing from top sponsors, including Columbia Sportswear, Smart Communications, Jollibee, The Lighthouse Marina Resort, Cherrylume, Pagcor, Urban Deli, Royal Duty Free, and Maple. Additional support also comes from local businesses and tourism stakeholders across Subic Bay.
SBMA Chairman Eduardo Aliño expressed his vision of turning Subic Bay into the “Fishing Capital of Northern Philippines” by promoting responsible outdoor tourism and showcasing the area’s vibrant marine resources.
“This tournament is part of our larger mission to stimulate sustainable tourism and position SBMA as a prime destination for sport fishing in the North,” said Chairman Aliño.
Beyond competition, the event is anticipated to give a strong boost to local tourism, with participants and spectators patronizing hotels, restaurants, and service providers throughout the Freeport and nearby communities.
Producer of Fish N Town TV, Ms. Mye Acuña, thanked the community for its overwhelming support,
“First and foremost, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our fellow anglers for the massive and enthusiastic response to this groundbreaking event. The number of registered participants has far exceeded expectations — a true testament to the strength and passion of our fishing community.”
With its dual focus on competition and conservation, the Subic Bay Shore Fishing Tournament 2025 goes beyond sport. It is a celebration of Subic Bay’s natural beauty, a platform for responsible angling, and a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to sustainable marine tourism.
