THE Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines (AFAD) joins fans and enthusiasts in intense anticipation of the long-running Defense & Sporting Arms Show, which promises a renewed vigor fueled by growing national support for the shooting sports and a stronger push for responsible gun ownership.

The event set July 23-27 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City serves as a major platform for showcasing the latest firearms, ammunition, tactical gear, and industry innovations from the country’s leading dealers and manufacturers.

AFAD spokesperson Alaric Topacio emphasized the show’s growing role in supporting the local shooting community and industry:

“This year’s show reflects the energy and progress in the firearms industry, and it’s especially timely as we prepare to host major international competitions. It’s an opportunity to bring our community together and continue promoting responsible firearms ownership.”

The event comes just as Filipino shooting athletes prepare to represent the country at the 2nd IPSA Action Air World Championship, taking place from July 26 to August 3 in Iloilo City, with over 200 shooters from more than 40 countries expected to attend. The local team also recently competed in the 2025 IPSC PCC/Mini Rifle World Shoot in Znojmo, Czech Republic, highlighting the Philippines’ growing presence in global shooting sports.

Notable guests invited to grace the arms show include Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, alongside key officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). These personalities have been known to participate in previous shows and demonstrated their support of AFAD’s initiatives and events for responsible gun ownership and helping the arms industry.
